Why do we physically die?
Why is our physical life so important to our eternal life after we die?
These questions form the foundation of A Guidebook for Living and Dying, a work that examines the relationship between the physical body, the human spirit, and the life beyond.
What Does It Mean to Be Alive?
Why do we physically die?
Why is physical life important to eternal life?
What is the true purpose of the human body?
How does our physical life shape our spiritual existence?
The Body as a Temporary Home
The human body is an amazing and unique form of architecture that, depending on its original state and care over time, can maintain life for many years.
The body was originally designed as a vehicle for the human mind and spirit to grow, develop, and make a home where the person’s spirit and the spirit of God could live in the physical world.
Once the person in their physical life had achieved the growth and maturity of the spirit, their desired transition into the spirit world would be ready.
Yet the awareness of the purpose of the physical body in relation to the spiritual body has not been well understood.
Many people think the purpose of life is to satisfy the needs of the physical body, both physically and emotionally. This book presents a different way of considering that relationship.
The body is only a temporary home for a certain amount of time. The person will then enter the spirit world to experience a new reality based on the activity and growth of their previous physical life.
Physical life as preparation for spiritual life.
The book invites readers to reconsider the relationship between the physical and spiritual dimensions of existence, and to look beyond the temporary needs of the body toward the growth and development of the human spirit.
When we understand the original purpose for life and death, we can truly fulfill the meaning of our existence and live as the home of God both now and in heaven.
